Ingrid currently lives between Akumal, Mexico, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She has experience in a range of fields: ecology, event management, real estate rentals and property management, arts, dance, and theater, photography, and paints as a hobby.
Ingrid is currently John Allen’s personal assistant and archive.
In the earlies 90’s she served nearly one year as a crew member on the Institute’s Research Vessel Heraclitus and sailed from Venezuela to Belize.
In the mid 90’s she worked as a supervisor of the Waste Water Garden constructions with Planetary Coral Reef Foundation and Centro Ecologico Akumal, on the coast of the state of Quintana Roo Mexico, and became vice- president of the PCRF field station in Akumal, Mexico. She also established a Travel Agency offering touristic services such as accommodation, transportation to and from the airport, and tours to sites of interest. She later became part-owner of the Akumal Dive Shop, one of the largest diving schools on the coast of Quintana Roo.
After becoming a diver, she modeled underwater for a renowned photographer, Gonzalo Arcila, making beautiful covers for the magazine Cancun tips, Natura Mexico, Mexico Desconocido, Ventana al Paraiso, Maps and guides of Quintana Roo, and La Quinta magazine.
